So I KNOW I KNOW....Ive bene a little bit busy these days...hahaha
a quick rundown:

*I did a workshop with Heidi/Ivan/Aly and Tyce...mucho FUN...I actually taught JAZZ, well my own version of it....SWING JAZZ...or as some were calling it....SWAZZ lol

*I was on The Megan Mullaly Show....again...and Im coming back on....for a third time to talk more baout DEMAND

*The DEMAND benefit was AMAZING!!! Everyone worked so hard and the attendees were so nice and grateful!!! We raised (drum roll) over 20,000 dollars!!!! AMAZING!!!!
*I cut my own hair!!! hahaha always a project...I debuted it on Megan and at the DEMAND benefit...Ill probably change it in a week or two as usual...I call it a crawk, cuz its a mix between a crew cut and a diagonal feux hawk
*I attended the US OPEN Swing dance championships with my students over Thanksgiving Weekend. It was a little stressful being around so many people, kind of smuthering a bit, but overall they were so great. Just excited to see me still loving swing...DUH!!! Torri (the little 14 yr. old girl I tried out with on the show WON!!! And many of my other couples/friends didor placed very highly as well so that was nice!!!

*Sin Bandera has a new CD!!!

*I saw a movie for the first time in I don't even know how many months...FOR YOUR CONCIDERATION, by Christopher Guest....amazing!!!

*I am single (not delving into this nor should any of the people on my top friends list should be contacted by ANYONE...I don't care who you are) ...thanks!

*I am booking events and gigs non-stop...crazy times...loving the dance scene.

*I took a class from Donyelle in LA...that was mucho fun.
*Im in the studio with the Audones recording an indie album for fun, when I get a moment...the new stuff is actually pretty decent.*JAY-Z the Jiggaman dropped KINGDOM COME!!!! SO DOPE...the clean version is sooooo amazing!!! doesn't take away anything!
*I went to Disneyland and threw up all over the place!!!

*I spent the night at Heidi's appt. because I missed my flight and we planned more of our content within the DVDs and retrospected life post SYTYCD...great times in NYC

*I've overcome the fear of insulting someone when I need my alone time or space...I seldom get it so if I need it...and if someone doesn't read the warning signs...I'll tel them. My intentions aren't bad...so why feel bad, eh?

*I've been teaching at my home studio, 5678 DANCE STUDIO for the past week and a half, while appt. hunting and helping out for the US OPEN and our Winter Gala which is like our end of the year Christmas recital...if nyone wants to come, call 909 335 0721, that's the studios number...Ill be there, I might even dance, a few numbers or something like that... hurry tho...its on dec 3rd!

*Im taking a year to be single and get used to life and enjoy it. For the first time in a while I feel like that's the direction I need to be going.

*I've been booked for the Billboard Music Awards, Australia, China, Chile, Norway, UK, Canada, and every city known to man in the USA...twice!!!

*DEMAND events are slowly being planned all around the US and CANADA...

*DVD/CD of DEMAND EVENT:1 is coming soon for sale...100 percetn as usual is donated to charity!!!

*Im going to Mexico at the end of the year...To find all the most effected areas of civil war in OAXACA, MEXICO....and find out what we can do to help out.

*Im enrolling in acting and singing lessons....(gee, I wonder why....)

*Im busy, stressed a little, but suprisingly, very Happy!!!

life's pretty crazy busy right now...the routine is coming along with lacey...were going to need to work our butts off tho this week. so, i went and saw stranger than fiction yesterday. i loved it. in case it's not incredibly clear to you from the ads, it's not a "will ferrell movie" like old school or anchorman, so if you're looking for that kind of flick you'll be disappointed. but if you liked being john malkovich or adaptation, for example? stranger than fiction is right up your cinematic alley. also, emma thompson? totally rocks. and i thought will ferrell did a great job with some more dramatic material.

also, i saw several trailers about which i was totally psyched:

the pursuit of happyness.

i totally cried at the trailer. i know. but i watched a show about this guy a while ago and his story is amazing. i think the movie's going to be fantastic. besides, i adore will smith.

man, i LOVE musicals, and this is going to be fantasssssstic. and i never cared about jennifer hudson on american idol, but i'm happy for her, and girlfriend can SING, and plus, "fake your way to the top" so benji, squee! :P (horrible fangirl edit 1: i can't believe i forgot, but also this has JOHN KRASINSKI!!!)

now, i'm not normally much of one for uber-girly movies, but i think both of these look completely adorable, so i will lay down my faux-coolness for a couple of hours and go see them.

Speaking of Jim, some awesome news on The Office...with extra awesome!

There's an article in Newsday focusing on the effects iTunes has had on the show's popularity. It also mentioned this:

Ever since then, “The Office” has paid almost as much attention to iTunes as to NBC. For example, “because people are watching more than once, it’s become one more reason for us to to be very careful to include subtle things as well as broad physical stuff,” Lieberstein says. The iTunes effect hasn’t hurt in attracting big-name directors either; Harold Ramis will direct an hour-long episode to air around Christmas, while “Lost’s” J.J. Abrams is on board for a February one.

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe have separated. The couple's rep released a statement to TMZ Monday morning that says "We are saddened to announce that Reese & Ryan have decided to formally separate. They remain committed to their family and we ask that you please respect their privacy and the safety of their children at this time."

Sources tell TMZ Witherspoon has contacted celebrity divorce lawyer Robert Kaufman, who has represented Jennifer Aniston, Roseanne and Lisa Marie Presley.

Sources say Witherspoon spoke with Kaufman about divorcing Ryan Phillippe, her husband of seven years. The couple has two children. They met at Witherspoon's 21st birthday party.

As for why Witherspoon contacted Kaufman, we're told it was not triggered by one event. Rather, one connected source says it was "cumulative."

Divorce papers have not yet been filed.

i went and saw marie antoinette today. i really liked it, but i suspect it's one of those films that people will either love or hate. it was slow and not too much actually happened, but it was an interesting character study, i thought. sofia coppola directed, so if you liked lost in translation, you'd probably like marie antoinette. the costumes were amazing and the movie itself was just lovely and bittersweet.

in completely unrelated news, i saw the prestige last week (which was fairly awesome, but the departed was better), and there was a preview for this movie, and i'm totally excited. darren aronofsky is amazing. if you haven't seen requiem for a dream, i highly recommend it. it's REALLY dark and disturbing (don't say i didn't warn you) and absolutely stunning.

In Benji news, here's a recap of yesterday's Much Music appearance, courtesy of captcanada!

- segment with Benji, Travis, Heidi, Donyelle and Alison lasted 15 minutes

- they all looked GREAT!!! Benji has reddish spiky hair at the moment, Travis has 'dreadlock' style black stripes cut in the the sides of his hair (still the trademark spiky blond hair on the top), ans Alison looked totally different, as she was wearing a fair bit of makeup.

- the host asked them about whether there was any conflict between the dancers, or any romantic liaisons - all dancers adamantly said there was none. Benji joked that he had been romantically linked on the web to everyone else alongside him (Heidi, Travis, Donyelle and Alison), and that the latest rumour had him and Alison getting married on December 2!!! Needless to say, they were rolling their eyes at that.

- they were asked what they were going to do after the SYTYCD show was over, this is what they said (in order of being asked):

Alison - moving to Los Angeles, and will be looking into doing TV shows, commercials and some modelling;

Donyelle - will continue to do auditions, dancing and get more into being a choreographer;

Travis - going to form Travan/Ivis!! Well, not quite - he is going to move in with Ivan to find a place to share in Los Angeles, to pursue his dancing. He will be doing some stuff with Mia, and also dancing/teaching at Dance Alliance. He has also gotten himself an agent (sounds like a very organized young man to me)

Heidi - will go back into the world of competitive ballroom dancing, and like the others, will look out for any dance-related opportunities that comes her way;

Benji - being Benji, started by saying that he was in the process of creating an exotic dance/strip tease routine!! To which the host said that they had a pole somewhere in the studio, to which Benji quickly backtracked on his words :-) He said that there were a couple of TV shows that he would be appearing in, and after that, he would pursue any dance opportunities just like the others.

- Benji was very low-key during this interview, he shared the limelight equally with the others and didn't try to steal the show. Which is fine, of course, but usually Benji comes across as being high energy and always on the go - maybe the tour is wearing him out! (Benji mentioned that he's got the flu in a recent MySpace bulletin, so that's another possible explanation. - RX *spoonfeeds him soup*)

- to end the segment, they also went outside to greet fans that were waiting outside the studio - the host commented on the number of Travis signs that the fans were holding - maybe Toronto is Travis country!!

I thought this interview was one of the better ones I've seen, as I learnt some things I didn't know before (ie what their plans are for the future) - and this is the first one I've seen with Travis and Alison in it too.

B'way's 'Singer' to shutter

Broadway tuner "The Wedding Singer," based on the 1998 Adam Sandler pic, will shutter Dec. 31.
Co-produced by the "Hairspray" team of Margo Lion and New Line Cinema, the tuner has struggled to attract auds since it began perfs March 30.

Recent attempts to drum up biz with the casting of "American Idol" alum Constantine Maroulis proved less effective than hoped. The show, whose weekly grosses dipped below $400,000 in September, has so far earned around $15 million during its Rialto run -- not yet enough to recoup its approximately $8 million capitalization.

The exit of "Wedding Singer" clears the deck for "Curtains," the Kander & Ebb tuner that is the most likely candidate to fill the void at the Al Hirschfeld Theater. (David Hyde Pierce starrer preemed in L.A. over the summer.)

"Wedding Singer" has music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin and book by Beguelin and Tim Herlihy, who wrote the original screenplay.

"Wedding Singer" may still inspire prospective incarnations in Asia, while stock and amateur productions will be licensed through Music Theater Intl. Producers also are in discussions for a 2007 national tour.

When it closes, "Wedding Singer" will have played 30 previews and 284 regular performances.

so.

uh, here goes?

it’s kind of funny, really. i started this blog because some people on a message board i read were starting blogs, and it seemed like fun. i already had my livejournal, where i talk about myself and what’s happening in my life. so i thought, well, i like boys, and tv, and stuff like that, so i’ll just post pictures of cute boys and maybe talk about tv and that’ll be fun. maybe someone will even read it!

so i started blogging. my first entry was a photographic inventory of my main “boyfriends,” posted on may 29. (this was before i decided to skip out on capital letters, apparently. hee.)

on june 8, i mentioned benji for the first time, and called him one of my early favorites.

by june 15, i was officially a fangirl.

as i talked more and more about benji, and started posting videos and stuff, more people kept showing up. and eventually it became, like, benji central, and stayed that way for quite a while.

and all of this is a really long way for me to get to a fairly simple point, which is that i certainly never expected to end up actually meeting the guy, much less meeting him because he hooked me up with a pass. but, y’know, somehow i managed to suffer through it.

so, like, i should get on with it, yes? yes.

well, after the whole will call issue of 2006 on the first night (specifically, that they didn't have my name and i think they definitely thought i was an insane stalker), i was a weeeeee bit nervous for the second night, but since benji’d assured me that they would have my name, i was cautiously optimistic.

[[[in unrelated news, i’d gotten new shoes that day which were perfectly comfortable at nine west and decidedly less so at the theater, so those cramped (literally, omg) my mojo for the evening a bit.]]]

regardless, i took my ass to will call, and sure enough, i had a pass! not only that, i had two passes!

so, i had two passes and only one of me, but i did a little detectiving (aka stood around and watched a certain seat) until i found the lovely trish, who’d told me she would be there. i introduced myself, we hugged, i gave her the pass, we hugged yet more. it was cool and she is just awesome, y’all!

so, with that handled, i went to my seat and settled in for the show. does anyone care what i thought about the show itself? no? i didn’t think so, lol. it was fun and funny and benji was the best part, but i liked everyone. (even ivan! *gasp* hee.) also, my girlcrush on natalie grew everytime i saw her. she is oh-so-hot and just amazing. and she gets lots of appreciation for using “maps” for her solo.

ok, so the show ends and i walk, like, completely the length of the building (in my evil shoes!) to the info desk, only to find out that i needed to go wait by door #1 (‘sup monty hall?), which was, naturally, where i’d just come from.

soooooo, i walked back across.

(omg, y’all, i’m the worst storyteller everrr.)

anyway! ok! interesting stuff! i assumed the m&g would have more people and be some kind of vaguely structured thing, but it was just natalie’s brother and 3 of his friends, along with me, trish, and trish’s friend. and it was, like, standing around in a back hallway of the theater. totally not what i was expecting, but hey, it worked.

so we got back there, and travis was wandering around, and we saw jaymz looking like sonic the hedgehog with that hair of his, and allison and natalie showed up and we chatted with them a little. allison was talking about a dress she bought at some drag queen store that…has something to do with a trucker? i don’t know. she’s really pretty in person; much moreso than i would’ve thought.

finally, benji showed up! it was funny – i was standing, like, right at a corner, and i heard him coming up behind me talking to the tour backstage dude, and he comes up to where we are, stops, like, right next to me, and starts looking around going “where’s….wait, where’s…? and then looks at me all “oh, hi!” he was looking for me! *wins*

anyway, so i gave him a hug (duh) and congratulated him on remembering to give them my name this time, and told him how the people at will call had totally thought i was lying the night before. (which they had! i felt like such a tool, lol.) when he looked quizzical, i told them that they’d told me i’d have to get in contact with benji to sort things out, and i continued that if i could get in touch with benji, i wouldn’t be at will call. (while i was saying “i wouldn’t be at will call” he said “you wouldn’t be there.” so, moment! hee.)

he started talking about how the problem was that he’d been at the hospital with his hand, and i mentioned that he hadn’t had it wrapped during the show, and he said that he’d taken vicodin the night before and was still working with that. (which, lightweight! hee.) he held out both hands and let me tell you guys, his left hand was huuuuuge – completely swollen (that’s what she said!). i don’t know how he did the whole show with it just all out there. eep.

then (i’m probably getting stuff out of order, but oh well – creative license) he said something about how he couldn’t wait to see what i wrote about our meeting, to which i replied that he can’t read it, and now it’s kind of weird to write about him – “now that you know me!” he said – and he said something about it kind of taking away some of the sparkle, and i was like “yeah, i’m totally over you now.” and he started joking about his picture coming off the blog header, getting slowly pushed to the left, and i said i was just going to keep making it smaller and smaller, lol.

then trish interjected something about him actually being hotter in person, lol. he seemed pleased. (trish said some other stuff at various points too, but i hope she’ll understand when i say i wasn’t really paying attention to her, hee.)

then he’s all “oh yeah! i meant to tell you this yesterday – you like the office, right?”

[[[sidenote: wasn’t tonight’s ep fantastic?!]]]

and i confirmed my office love, and he starts telling me about how during tour rehearsals, janet jackson came and watched at some point (which as far as i can tell has nothing to do with the story, lol), and then he talks about walking through a hotel in burbank (where rehearsals were? or something?) and seeing people who looked familiar, and noticing that they were in office-worker looking clothes, and then realizing that it was the cast of the office!!! they were filming there – i’m assuming it was “the convention” episode, that aired a couple weeks ago. benji thinks they (him and some of the other dancers) may have been in the background somewhere, so anyone who wants to play a little spot-the-schwimmer, go to town. in any event, benji got to meet them all, and talked about steve carell doing, like, 20 takes of every scene, ‘cuz he likes to improvise a lot and stuff.

um, what else? he asked if it was weird to be hanging around with him, and i told him kind of, but not awful. he talked about going to bryce avary’s with lacey and how they were just like “uh. hi. what’s up?” and felt weird, lol.

he talked a little bit about getting some angry-ass email from the militant benjelle types, and the video he and donyelle made addressing the rumors or whatever. i felt bad, because he said donyelle was upset about some of the things people were writing to her boyfriend. grrr. (although, to the anonymous commenter from a few weeks ago who left that incredibly rude, condescending message about how dumb people were for thinking benji’s special lady friend could be anyone but donyelle – way to go there, killer! heh.)

omg this is getting long. other little things:

+ he claimed to be surprised that i smile so much since i always look serious in pictures. i told him that i needed to keep my tough rep for the internet so no one would mess with me. SO PH34R ME, INTERNETS. hee. he also said something about probably being more docile than i would’ve expected, which is both true and not true. he’s calmer than you’d think, but i certainly never expected for him to be BENJI(!!!!!!) all the time, you know?

+ while we were talking, he was, like, standing on one leg for a while, and then doing some random side kicks and stuff. i don’t know if he was having some kind of an issue or if he just does that. i used to cheerlead in place all the time when i was a cheerleader so it may just be a habit, lol.

+ he asked me how my cat was doing, lol. my cat is famous on the internets! \o/

+ we’d taken a picture together right after he came out, and at one point he had to leave for a minute, so i took a sec to check out the pic and decide that i hated it. so as we were kind of wrapping things up (the tour manager secret service dude was wanting benji to get out and commence with the autographs at this point) i asked if we could take another picture, and he said ok, and i was holding my camera, and he looks down and grabs my hands and goes “your hands are shaking! tracy, stop it. it’s just me.”

which – y’know! i thought i was relatively calm, or at least doing a reasonable impression of a calm person, but clearly not. so i yelled at him for pointing it out and fake-punched him in the shoulder. hee.

so we go to take another picture, and this was kind of funny, actually, and didn’t occur to me until later – you can totally tell benji is used to leading women around, because i was standing on one side of him, and we were going to take the picture, and he did…something…and suddenly i was on his other side, without meaning to be and without him having moved more than, like, his arm. looking back, i still don’t know how he did it, but that’s kind of hot, yeah?

[[[side note: i bet he was awesome at being a missionary. because he’s just so cute and charming, that he could’ve been like ‘hey, no more internet for you ever!’ or ‘ok, now kick this puppy!’ or ‘you will eat five servings of vegetables every day, and no more chocolate!’ and i totally would’ve gone along with whatever he said.]]]

so we took the other pic, and he thanked me for all i’d done (which is silly, he’s the one who did stuff, i merely fangirled at a high volume), and told me to keep in touch, and we hugged, and he started walking toward the exit.

and then i remembered; i was supposed to tell him to call kale!

so i called out “kale says hi and to call him when you can!”

and he turned around, walking backwards, and said “oh! your friend…oh, what’s her name? with the long blonde hair, the mom? what’s her name?!”

“anne!” i said.

“right!” he said. “she said to tell you hi!”

“oh, ok!” i said.

and he smiled. waved.

and then he was gone.

Also, there's a great article about Scranton, PA's reaction to The Office. The show is actually going there to shoot an episode based on Scranton's famous St. Patrick's Day parade!

Paper Magic Group, which makes greeting cards, Valentines and other seasonal products, is often confused for Dunder Mifflin. The office building is shown briefly in the show’s opening credits, along with a Mulberry Street sign.

And actor John Krasinksi, who plays Jim, visited Paper Magic when he was scouting possible locations and filmed the opening montage of the city from his car. He is the only cast member actually sighted in Scranton.

But the cast plans to come to Scranton to film an episode about the huge St. Patrick’s Day parade. And the mayor wants to fly the cast in through corporate sponsors for “The Office” day, a big lovefest of the show.

well, as everyone and their mother apparently knew but me, benji did a number on his hand last night in miami. turns out it's pretty severely sprained, and it's his left hand so he can't sign autographs (although i watched him make a valiant attempt to sign one right-handed for a little boy of about 4, like 2 feet in front of me. as you can imagine, i maybe squeed a bit).

anyway, i guess during the flip in the tranji dance, he caught a couple of fingers in trav's belt loop. :( i have to give him SO much credit, i didn't see even a flinch and i was superclose. (and watching him like a hawk, lol.)

ANYWAY. consequently he spent quite a bit of today at the hospital, which prevented him from leaving me a pass thingy at will call. :(

but!

i'm getting one tomorrow! :)

i couldn't see him before the show, obvs, so i had to wait by the buses. (which was a very high-pitched experience, lol.) i am, like, not great at pushing people out of my way, so i wound up walking almost the entire length of the barricades before i got to him. and so i finally did, and i was all "benji! i'm tracy!" and he yelled and grabbed me and hugged me for three days, and then he introduced me to people as his "good friend tracy" (!!!) and we talked to me for a few minutes and he held my hand the whole time. aw. he's the cutest boy EVER, y'all. like, remember on that results show when he was holding hands with donny while they were, like, hugging other people and stuff? that's how he was holding my hand- he was taking pictures with other people, and talking on the phone to some chick's mom, and hearing a speech from a really cute, rather emotional young teenage girl about not letting people judge him (in reference to that blog he posted a while back), all while still holding my hand. cutecutecute.

i also totally kissed him on the cheek randomly for no good reason. he is just WAY too cute, y'all. luckily he did not object to my assault. hee!

oh, and he said i was the most powerful woman on the internet, lolz.

i didn't get a picture, which was dumb because i actually look cute for once. i guess this means i have to look cute again tomorrow, damn.

I really really love Tina Fey, and this show's gotten great reviews, but I'm kind of worried that people will think it's a bite-off of Studio 60 and decide not to watch it. They're two completely different shows though, and I think you'll all like it. I hope you do anyway because I cry at the thought of no Tina Fey on TV.

i know i talk about tv a lot. i watch a ridiculous amount of it, and i go on and on about how good various shows are. which on the one hand means that this is just yet another show i'm rambling about. but on the other hand, it also makes the fact that of all the shows i watch, this is MY VERY FAVORITE kind of significant.

here are a few reasons to watch veronica mars.

if you're shallow (like me!), there's an overabundance of boys of the hot persuasion.

if you're into snarky, funny dialogue, it has that in spades.

if you like gritty, dark situations, it's got quite a few of those.

if you like emotion and romance and friendship and family, look no further!

seriously. i love this show passionately, and it desperately needs ratings. if it doesn't pick up an audience in the next few weeks, it's done, and the entire internet will be overrun by my teary tributes to my favorite show ever.

none of the previews and promos do it justice, so you'll have to judge for yourself. so i'm asking nicely.

please watch veronica mars tonight. even if you don't think it's something you'd be interested in, at least give it a shot. if you hate it, i'll, like...i don't know. i'll do something to make it up to you. but you won't hate it, because it's awesome.

Also, NBC released a hilarious tribute video for Dwight/Angela that's sort of along the lines of the Jim/Pam promo, but it's clearly not supposed to be taken seriously.

Congratulations to Clay Aiken for having the #1 debut on this week's Billboard charts!

He entered at #2, behind Justin Timberlake, with over 200,000 in sales. I've been roaming the message boards, and others think it's a massive disappointment, but I tink it sold pretty damn well. For an album of love song covers that got little to no promotion on the radio, I think those numbers are fucking fabulous.

Also, Clay had a CD signing at the Virgin Megastore in Hollywood today, and here are a couple of pictures.

Hi guys!!!

Life is pretty busy yet very good. Ive been touring and flying to meetings and networking and seldom resting but I have learned how to turn off my phone and chill for a minute or two when the body asks for it. I haver some good news...

TOUR NEWS: The Tour just keeps getting better and better. Things are gliding along nicely. We're being watched out ffor up there for sure by how much things come together at the last minute. There's a plethora of script, dance moves, costume changes and even lighting cues we have to think of every minute and yet things come together.

Movie News: Nothing really has changed in this department with the exception of a possibility of me actually renacting a movie of Fred Astaire. The idea has come from somewhere else other then the origional idea and I was mentioned about the part. These things take a long time to get up and running and its more then likely that it may never happen, but Im crossing my fingers in the mean time and I would be honored to do something of that calibur. on a side note...I am enrolled in acting classes afte the tour ends with Jim Carrey's former coach.

Two of my favorite shows return tonight!

Grey's Anatomy premieres tonight at 9:00 PM on ABC. I've remained completely and utterly spoiler-less with season three, so I have no idea what's going on. What I do know is that I can't get "How To Save A Life" by The Frey out of my head thanks to the show's promos, lol

i'm bored, so i'm posting my ten favorite reality tv singing contestants. (i was going to do my top 10 idols, but i didn't have 10, but i had more than five, so i thought i'd throw a few rockstar contestants in the mix. )

clearly, i'm not a girl's girl -- only one female made the list. some of them i absolutely adore and actively follow, some i just really liked on whatever show they were on, and some fall in between.

these aren't really in order, except for maybe the last two. #1 is definitely #1, at any rate. it was too hard to order all ten, tho.

10. kalan porter, canadian idol 2.

kalan actually won his season of canadian idol, which is cool because he was my favorite at the time. i actually didn't watch the show, but i had friends who did so i downloaded a bunch of performances. kalan was so sweet and cute and his voice is just gorgeous. plus he plays the violin, which is hott. his first album, 219 days, was surprisingly good for a idol-winning CD -- usually they're pretty lame.

i haven't really kept up with him, but i loved his CI performances, so he makes the list. here's his performance of "born to be wild." the video quality is annoyingly bad, but you can still get the gist of it.

09.constantine maroulis, american idol 4.

say hello to one of my more controversial favorites, lol. a lot of people hated him, and i can understand why. he's random and in-your-face and sometimes he did an awful job. but i LOVED him, because he always zigged when you expected him to zag, and he turned in some amazing performances along the way.

he's currently working on his first album, and he's on broadway right now in the wedding singer. rx and i are going to see him in october and i can't wait! now, here he is doing "bohemian rhapsody."

08. toby rand, rockstar:supernova.

i won't lie. toby caught my attention by being slammin' hot. period. but, as it turned out, he was actually really talented. imagine that!

he finished in the top 4 of RS:SN, and he's got a band back in australia called juke cartel that i imagine he'll be going back to. they're good; check them out. i know i've posted a few vids of him over the past few weeks, but hey, he's on the list, so i'm putting up another one. so here he is on radiohead's "karma police." also, if you watch 'till the end, he talks and you can hear his accent. very cute.

07. elliott yamin, american idol 5.

man, i adore elliott. it's funny, because i'm not into R&B at all, really, but his voice is so damn pretty, and he's such a sweetheart, that i totally fell in love with him. he finished in third place, and i am fully convinced that he deserved to win. i cried my eyes out when he got kicked off. forget about ivan, elliott was for sure this year's seabiscuit.

are the idols still touring, or is that over finally? i have no idea, i suck at keeping track of E. but he rocks, so here he is singing elvis presley's "trouble."

06. kelly clarkson, american idol 1.

congratulations, kelly, you're basically the one chick i've ever REALLY rooted for. hee. i loved kelly on AI and i love her today. i'm going to man up and admit now that i also kind of liked justin guarini. i KNOW. i got over it pretty quickly, tho. and especially once they had them sing the same songs in the finale -- kelly OWNED justin, omg.

i don't think i really need to tell anyone what kelly's up to these days; girlfriend is ubiquitous. so let's just enjoy a little old-school KC on "stuff like that there."

05. ryan star, rockstar:supernova.

when RS:SN first started, i barely noticed ryan, other than i found him vaguely hot. but before i knew it, he started coming on like a bat out of hell, giving these amazing performances and earning himself the nickname "the dark horse."

he has an album on itunes called "eye of the elephant." it's pretty awesome, very piano-centric and listenable. i had a hard time picking a performance, but i finally settled on this awesome rendition of depeche mode's "enjoy the silence." he's so intense. rawr.

04. jacob hoggard, canadian idol 2.

so, remember adorable kalan, who started off this list? well, jacob was on that same season, and he totally would've been my favorite if i'd actually been watching the show. he came in third -- he was part of a band, hedley (the band is still active, but the line-up is almost completely different), and he just wanted publicity for the band. final three week, he posted a message in his blog telling fans not to vote for him (not in so many words, but the meaning was clear.) and so they didn't, i guess, because that's when he went home. this is his kiss-off performance, and i LOVE it. it's very him. also, check out his version of "space oddity" on youtube if you get a chance. it has to be seen to be believed.

03. anthony callea, australian idol 2.

i fell for anthony completely randomly. i was in a musical secret santa kind of thing, and my sender sent me an mp3 of anthony from the show, and i was realllllly impressed, so i downloaded a bunch of videos of him and fell madly in love. he's got an amazing voice and he's a hell of a performer. very charismatic.

this is the performance i was sent the mp3 of -- it's called "the prayer" and it was recorded as duet between celine dion and andrea bocelli. it's probably his best performance, vocally, but he did a lot of fun songs, too, so look for them on youtube if you get a chance.

02. j.d. fortune, rockstar:inxs.

j.d. was the "villian" of rs:inxs. he was portrayed as the difficult one, the moody one, the fuck-up. he was there to win and had no qualms about saying so. i, of course, didn't care in the slightest, as he was hotter than a thousand suns, had a terrific voice, and is a fantastic performer. when he won, he fell on the stage and cried and it was maybe the cutest thing ever. i adore him, like, A LOT.

j.d. brings the awesome basically EVERY TIME, but this is one of my favorite performances of his, from the finale. IMO, if the guys of inxs were in any doubt, this sealed the deal. here's "you can't always get what you want."

01. clay aiken, american idol 2.

i could go on about clay for a really long time if left to my own devices. i've never found a voice i love as much as his, and i'd be shocked if i ever do. i just love him to pieces, and i don't care how uncool it supposedly is. he's a really good guy, and an amazing singer, and i adore him, so fuck the naysayers. they can bite me.

this is the performance on AI that absolutely convinced me it would be a travesty if he didn't win. of course, he actually ended up not winning, but i'd say that's irrelevant at this point. anyway, this is "to love somebody."

Clay Aiken is no longer the charmingly awkward, self-confessed "dork" who came in second on 2003's second season of American Idol. He has a new look, a new album – A Thousand Different Ways, which hit stores Tuesday – and some new, hard-won wisdom.

"I learned this year that you can't make people like you or care about you or love you," the 27-year-old, Southern Baptist-bred singer, whose 2003 debut album Measure of a Man sold 2.6 million copies, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview.

"I'm becoming a man, not just with my hair," he says, laughing about his darker, longer 'do, "but with my life. This year's been an education: the education of Clay."

He's also aware of what people have been saying about him this year, and in the new issue of PEOPLE (on newsstands Friday), he addresses rumors about his sexuality and more. Here's a preview:

On whether he's gay: "What do you say (to that question)? … It's like when I was 8. I remember something would get broken in the house, and Mom and Dad would call me in and say, 'Did you do this?' On the panic attacks he suffered after Idol: "I'd walk into a room and say to myself, 'I am not going to have a problem when these people stare at me.' … But then (in) that situation, my heart would start pumping, and I'd start sweating and looking around nervously and shaking. I felt like I was going to have a heart attack."

On taking the anti-anxiety drug Paxil: "I said (to my doctor), 'Listen, I don't want to go to a therapist. I have nothing against therapists. I want to think I can do this on my own.' And she recommended that I try a medication. … Now I can sit here; I can go into a store; I can handle a photo shoot. I'm able to get rid of all that stuff in the periphery. It makes everything easier."

On the future: "I want to be a father so badly. I want (kids) one day. (I so volunteer to help with that. - RX) Not now. I would love to adopt. There's an orphanage not too far from my house, and I've been up before with church. I always thought, 'What happens to those kids who have the potential to go to college but just can't afford it?' I've been thinking a lot lately about finding a way to pay for one of those kids to go to college."

Matthew Perry - A horribly underrated, versatile actor. If you love him but couldn't stomach Friends (*gestures madly towards self*), then you'll be very happy with this show.

Major Sorkin Players - Aaron Sorkin, creator of Studio 60, is infamous for "recycling" actors for his shows. Felicity Huffman played Dana in Sports Night, appeared in The West Wing and guests as herself in the pilot of Studio 60. Timothy Busfield directed a few episodes of Sports Night, played Danny in The West Swing and is currently playing Cal in Studio 60. I've got my fingers crossed that Lisa Edelstein will show up in another sex-centric role. Speaking of Major Sorkin Players...

Josh Malina - He's got to show up eventually, right?

Dialogue - No one writes dialogue like Aaron Sorkin. He can squeeze a 65-word commentary into 30 seconds and make it work. He can use uncommon words and phrases and everything will still make perfect sense. You can watch The West Wing and know nothing about how the government works. You can watch Sports Night without giving a damn about sports. I can only assume you can watch Studio 60 and not know how a television camera works. If you don't understand what a masterful wordsmith Sorkin is after Wes's commentary in Studio 60, then you have an awful depreciation of the Englisg language.

Bradley Whitford - He's simply amazing on screen, and he makes sarcasm an art.

Matt/Danny HoYay - Those two make a quiet moment look like something out of Cinemax: After Hours. I watch them and think, "Why...why isn't there more touching?" The now infamous hug on Leno obliterated my last shread of dignity. I will never not want them to get physical with each other.

Let's take a moment to remember that glorious moment.

Nate Corddry - He's the younger and more aesthetically pleasing version of his older brother, Rob Corddry of The Daily Show. He went to Williamstown, and one of his professors was Lewiss Black. It doesn't get much better than that, folks. He had a short stint on The Daily Show himself, but Studio 60 seems like a better fit for him. I predict that his character, Tom Jeter, will be my new Jeremy Goodwin.

It's a show within a show! - It's like Saturday Night Live (without its perpetual suckiness) being the meat within a torpedo roll of drama. This also means celebrity guests and musical performances! That's hot, man.

Possible autobiographical connections - It's rumored that one of the show's characters, Harriet Hayes, is based on Sorkin's real life ex-girlfriend, Kristin Chenoweth. Harriet, incidentally, was romantically involved with Matt Albie (Perry's character). A troubled writer being dumped by a funny blonde Christian girl? Hmmm.

Because it will be consistently mentioned within this blog - You have been warned. Heh.

Season Premiere!
The Office premiere is fast approaching. For those who don't know, Season Three starts September 21st at 8:30 PM eastern time. Also on the 21st in John Krasinski's appearance on Conan and Jon and Jenna Fischer's appearances on The Today Show. The 21st is shaping up to be the greatest day EVER!

Steve Carell will be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on September 20th, and Rainn Wilson's appearance on Ellen, which was supposed to be today, has been re-scheduled for September 18th!

so, is everyone having a lovely labor day weekend? i'm flying down to the keys to see my mom tomorrow and i'm dreading the airport, but other than that it should be cool. i'm snagging her prison break dvds, so whoever told me to watch it should be happy. :)

first of all, as far as stuff people REALLY want:

also, i'm depressed because i saw say anything for the first time tonight, and lloyd dobler is AMAZING and far, far too fictional. i finally get why women are so crazy about john cusack. which reminds me of a book i read.

in the opening of sex, drugs and cocoa puffs: a low culture manifesto (which is a riot, and insightful, and i highly recommend it), chuck klosterman writes:

I once loved a girl who almost loved me, but not as much as she loved John Cusack. Under certain circumstances, this would have been fine; Cusack is relatively good-looking, he seems like a pretty cool guy (he likes the Clash and the Who, at least), and he undoubtedly has millions of bones in the bank. If Cusack and I were competing for the same woman, I could easily accept losing. However, I don't really feel like John and I were "competing" for the girl I'm referring to, inasmuch as her relationship to Cusack was confined to watching him as a two-dimensional projection, pretending to be characters who don't actually exist. Now, there was a time when I would have thought that detachment would have given me a huge advantage over Johnny C., inasmuch as my relationship with this woman included things like "talking on the phone" and "nuzzling under umbrellas" and "eating pancakes." However, I have come to realize that I perceived this competition completely backward; it was definitely an unfair battle, but not in my favor. It was unfair in Cusack's favor. I never had a chance.

It appears that countless women born between the years of 1965 and 1978 are in love with John Cusack. I cannot fathom how he isn't the number-one box-office star in America, because every straight girl I know would sell her soul to share a milkshake with that motherfucker. For upwardly mobile women in their twenties and thirties, John Cusack is the neo-Elvis. But here's what none of these upwardly mobile women seem to realize: They don't love John Cusack. They love Lloyd Dobler. When they see Mr. Cusack, they are still seeing the optimistic, charmingly loquacious teenager he played in Say Anything, a movie that came out more than a decade ago. That's the guy they think he is; when Cusack played Eddie Thomas in America's Sweethearts or the sensitive hit man in Grosse Point Blank, all his female fans knew he was only acting...but they assume when the camera stopped rolling, he went back to his genuine self...which was someone like Lloyd Dobler...which was, in fact, someone who is Lloyd Dobler, and someone who continues to have a storybook romance with Diane Court (or with Ione Skye, depending on how you look at it). And these upwardly mobile women are not alone. We all convince ourselves of things like this -- not necessarily about Say Anything, but about any fictionalized portrayals of romance that happen to hit us in the right place, at the right time. This is why I will never be completely satisified by a woman, and this is why the kind of woman I tend to find attractive will never be satisfied by me. We will both measure our relationship against the prospect of fake love.

speaking of fake love, and real love, and love in general...

i LOVE this song from hedwig and the angry inch called "the origin of love." the video makes me all sappy.

i highly, highly recommend this movie. the vast majority of it is live action, and not animation, just fyi. the story is wonderful and the music is amazing. if you're into theater, or rock and roll, or love or life or anything, you should check it out. (incidentally, john cameron mitchell -- who wrote it, directed it, and played the title role -- is the guy who directed that bright eyes video i posted last week.)

Retro Junk - Here, you'll find videos of commercials, TV show openings and movie trailers from the 70's, 80's and 90's. I once spent an entire day in the 90's archive, reminiscing over Crystal Pepsi and "10-10-220". It's the perfect website for pop culture fanatics.

Stuff On My Cat - It's pretty self-explanatory, lol. I'm fairly certain that both of my cats hate that I've discovered this website. Not a day goes by that I don't try to set up a shot of one of them wearing a fedora while posing next to a martini glass. (That was a good martini glass too; damn you, Milo!)

so. in addition to being a total tv fangirl, i'm also a huge movie geek. i LOVE movies, i love going to the movies, i love analyzing and discussing movies...i. love. movies.

and it just so happens that there are a handful of movies i'm really excited about seeing. so, let's discuss. trailers included for her pleasure. (or his. or both. hee.)

little miss sunshine. this is actually out already, but i haven't had a chance to see it yet. by all accounts, it's fabulous. stars greg kinnear, steve carell and toni collette.

the last kiss. september 15. i love zach braff to bits, and this looks amazing. the trailer makes me cry, because i so get it. starring zach braff, jacinda barrett, rachel bilson and blythe danner.

two movies about old hollywood.

hollywoodland. september 8. so intriguing. i love the whole neo-noir thing and i think the casting is just about perfect. stars adrien brody, diane lane and ben affleck.

the black dahlia. september 15. this looks amazing! slick and seedy and sexy. i don't approve of the male lead so much, but i still think i'll love this. starring josh hartnett, aaron eckhart (rawr), scarlett johansson (rawr again) and hilary swank.

two movies about...magicians? (why are movies coming out in similar pairs?)

the prestige. october 20. two rival magicians. is one of them actually magical? maybe. christopher nolan makes awesome movies, and the cast makes me squee. starring hugh jackman, christian bale, michael caine, scarlett johansson and david bowie(!).

the illusionist. this is another one that's already out but i haven't seen yet. a man uses his mad magician-ing skills to begin an affair with a woman totally out of his league socially, and start a whole lot of trouble in the process. stars edward norton (swoon), paul giamatti, jessica biel and rufus sewell.

and finally, a big old squeeeeeeee for:

the departed. october 6. martin scorsese movies make me intensely happy, the cast is to die for, and it just looks all-around FANTASTIC. the trailer makes me flail in anticipation. starring leonardo dicaprio, matt damon, jack nicholson and mark wahlberg.

hey guys...well some new twists and turns of events have conspired in the last few days...
so much news to announce. I have agreed to do my first feature film with heidi. Its dubbed "For Love and Dance" ...we both will have soeaking roles in it to get our feet wet. We play champion swing dancers(far fetched eh?)...its going to be a lot of fun and we film at the end of this year after the tour. Tour is coming along very well....we are in our second day of rehersals...theyre going great!!!! Great dancing with everyone again. The whole conceptualization of the tour is just awesome! We reherse in a secret location right next to Janet and her tour (ooh, i wonder if he met blake from last year. *hopes for pic of the blakji* -vix) as well as Pink and Tom Petty. I have a new song I will be doing for my solo in the tour. That should be fun!!!
On other news...
Sadly, the Fred Astaire movie is not going to happen. BUT!!!! I have just recieved a few new scripts and Im wrestling with a few different sitcoms and possibly Broadway shows coming after the tour. Things are crazy right now....butin a good way!!! Im just counting my lucky stars and blessings....DEMAND is coming along amazingly. I have new staff working on getting the website up as well as international recognition coming to the forfront for more exposure and attention. Come the end of the year I will be asking for volunteers as well as donations and fundraisers so keep in touch with this site in the coming months.
I love you guys...and miss performing live on TV for all of you...CANT WAIT FOR THE TOUR!

EDIT: any harry potter fans in the house? this video is AMAZING. be warned, it has spoilers through book 6. yes, book 6. it's harry/ginny, in the background, but very story-oriented and the editing is unbelievable.
